IMPOUND POLICY

We understand that having your vehicle towed can be frustrating. Our goal is to make the release process as straightforward and respectful as possible. Please review the following policies carefully to avoid delays.
WHO CAN RETRIEVE A VEHICLE

Vehicles are released only to the registered owner or an authorized representative.
​
What is an authorized representative?
An authorized representative is someone who has been approved by both the registered owner and Overtime Towing staff to retrieve the vehicle on the owner’s behalf.
To begin this process, the registered owner must speak directly with our team. Once verified, we will provide guidance on how to authorize another party to retrieve the vehicle.
VERIFICATION OF IDENTITY & OWNERSHIP

A valid, government-issued photo ID must be presented.

Expired IDs will not be accepted

Digital copies are accepted

A digital ID can be obtained from the NC My DMV website: https://edmv.ncdot.gov/MyDMV/Account/Login

Required documentation must be presented upon arrival. There will be no access to the vehicle to retrieve documents without management approval.

Present one of the following:​​

A current insurance policy/card listing the party attempting to retrieve the vehicle and the impounded vehicle information. The issue date of the insurance policy must be earlier than the tow date.

Vehicles cannot operate on our property without valid insurance. Additional fees will apply for the pull-out of uninsured vehicles.

Insurance information may be displayed digitally or printed.

A valid vehicle registration.

A copy may be obtained from the NC My DMV website: https://edmv.ncdot.gov/MyDMV/Account/Login.

A physical title.
-
Electronic copies are not accepted.

A statement from your finance company on letterhead indicating the current date, vehicle information, and the name of the lessee(s).

A payoff quote from your financial portal typically contains this information.

PAYMENT REQUIREMENTS​

All towing-related charges and any fees must be paid in full before a vehicle can be released. Additional administrative or after-hours fees may also apply.

Accepted payment methods:
-
Cash – bring exact amount. Employees are unable to make change.

Credit or debit cards – subject to a processing fee. Card must be in the name of the registered owner or authorized representative. Third party payments by card are not accepted.

​SCHEDULING A VEHICLE RELEASE

All vehicle releases are by appointment only,

Please arrive within 15 minutes of your scheduled time. If you are running late, you must contact us at least 20 minutes before your appointment to cancel or reschedule. Failure to do so may result in an additional charge.

Do not approach the facility without an appointment. Please call 704‑999‑5293 for assistance.

After-hours releases (between 9:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m.) will incur an additional gate access fee.

Only the registered owner or approved representative is allowed on property. All others must remain off-site. Failure to comply with safety procedures may result in cancellation of your appointment.​

IF YOUR VEHICLE IS NOT DRIVABLE​

If your vehicle is not drivable you must arrange for your own tow service.

Non-Overtime Towing trucks are not allowed on property.

In-lot repairs are not permitted.
-
Additional fees will apply for the pull-out of non-operational vehicles.​

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

We do not release employee names. All staff are identified by employee ID number only.

We do not disclose which individual towed your vehicle.

INTERFERENCE WITH TOWING OPERATIONS
​
We take the safety of our staff and the efficiency of our operations seriously. Any interference with towing activity or facility operations may result in additional charges.
• Harassment, obstruction, or aggressive behavior toward staff or equipment may lead to civil or criminal charges.
• We reserve the right to cancel the appointments of any individuals not complying with our policies and procedures.
